Well, since I just got to know about this blog, I guess I will post now before I have no more time to blog...

Today, my sharing will be on Luke 12: 22-34, "Do Not Worry"

Green Font: Verses

Blue Font: My Opinion

22Then Jesus said to his disciples: "Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat; or about your body, what you will wear.
Well, in my opinion, Jesus is telling us not to be worried about our lives on earth, but rather look forward to our lives in heaven where there is joy.

23Life is more than food, and the body more than clothes.

He also tells us in verse 23 that life is more important than food which (may) also mean our spirit because it is life that allows us to be God's messenger on Earth. Also, He mentioned to us that our bodies are more important than clothes as our bodies are temples of God so we may worship him anywhere we want. Therefore it also told us to take care of our health.

24Consider the ravens: They do not sow or reap, they have no storeroom or barn; yet God feeds them. And how much more valuable you are than birds! 25Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life? 26Since you cannot do this very little thing, why do you worry about the rest?

27"Consider how the lilies grow. They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you, not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. 28If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today, and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, how much more will he clothe you, O you of little faith!

Here Jesus is emphasizing the reason why not to worry about needs for whom of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life. He also shows that we don't have to worry about our necessities as God has already provided ours. How can we be sure? Jesus quoted three example, if the ravens (birds) have no ability to sow or reap, and yet God feeds them, how much more will He feed you? This shows that Jesus is telling us that we should have faith in the Lord, and trusting him in giving us the necessities to live on our lives.

29And do not set your heart on what you will eat or drink; do not worry about it. 30For the pagan world runs after all such things, and your Father knows that you need them. 31But seek his kingdom, and these things will be given to you as well.

Jesus in this verses is telling us not to worry about what you will have to eat for only the world seeks for food. As Christian, we need not worry as God we know that God will provide the necessities in order to carry out His will when seek His kingdom.

32"Do not be afraid, little flock, for your Father has been pleased to give you the kingdom. 33Sell your possessions and give to the poor. Provide purses for yourselves that will not wear out, a treasure in heaven that will not be exhausted, where no thief comes near and no moth destroys. 34For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.

Lastly, for the last few versus, Jesus here tells not to be afraid as God willingly wants to give you his kingdom and therefore do not be afraid of whether he will allow you to His kingdom, for if you do things according to God's will, He will grant you His kingdom. He also tells us to donate, in this case, sell our possessions, to the poor as all our earthly possessions are only temporal and will be gone when we leave this world. Provide yourself a space in your hearts (purse that will not wear out) for a treasure in heaven will always remain. It will never and cannot be stolen or destroyed for your hearts will decide where your treasure will be. So, your "purse" will store your heavenly treasure when you have gain possessions of it.
